How to Use AI Art in PhotoDirector

PhotoDirector's AI Art turns a portrait into a themed character, from anime to a baby sitting in someone's palm. You pick a style from a gallery that shows each one on a model, and it builds a new picture around your subject. Our college-age subject came back as Baby Face: same fair hair, blue eyes and gray hoodie, two decades younger.

From the PhotoDirector launcher, choose Guided & GenAI, the mode that holds the step-by-step AI tools.

Click Portrait in the rail on the left. AI Art sits under GenAI on Faces, just below Image to Video. Its intro screen lays out the three stages, import, pick a style, transform. Click Start Now.

Open the photo you want to transform. It fills the canvas, and the style gallery opens on the left. A clear, well-lit face gives it the most to work with; ours is a front-on smile.

Choose Female or Male first, since each tab holds its own gallery, and use the All list to narrow it. Each tile shows the style on a model. We clicked Baby Face, and it picked up a blue outline.

The badge on Generate shows the credits the selected style will use.

Click Generate. The canvas dims and a percentage counts up over the photo, so you can tell it is working rather than stalled.

The result replaces the photo on the canvas, and the button becomes Re-generate. Baby Face kept the details that make it read as the same person, the hair, the eyes and the hoodie, and changed everything else, including the shape: our square photo came back as a tall portrait.

Not quite right? Re-generate runs the same style again for a different take, which is usually a better first move than switching style. When you like it, Export at the top saves it.
