How to Use Face Swap in PhotoDirector
Put a face into a ready-made scene, then carry the result straight into your editing.

Face Swap in PhotoDirector works the way a photo booth does: you pick the scene first, then put a face in it. The gallery is full of finished shots, seasonal and otherwise, already lit and styled, so the work of building a picture is done before you start.
- In PhotoDirector, open Guided & GenAI, click Portrait in the rail, and pick Face Swap under GenAI on Faces, then Start Now.
- Choose a scene from the gallery, or click Import Photo to use one of your own.
- Click Add Face to Swap and load the face that replaces the one in the scene.
- Tick the terms, click Generate, and save the result.
Steps to Use Face Swap
Step 1: Open Face Swap
Start in Guided & GenAI from the launcher. That mode holds the AI tools that walk you through a job, rather than the full editing workspace.
Click Portrait in the rail on the left, and Face Swap sits under GenAI on Faces. Clicking it brings up a short explainer showing the three stages: a photo with the face you want replaced, a photo with the face doing the replacing, and the finished swap. Click Start Now.
Step 2: Choose the Scene
This is the part that makes PhotoDirector's version feel different from a plain swap. The gallery down the left is a set of complete photographs, each already composed and lit, and you're choosing which one to appear in. The selected scene gets an orange border and loads into the preview on the right, so you can see what you're about to be dropped into.
Import Photo sits at the top of the same gallery if you'd rather use a photo of your own as the scene. Everything after this step works the same either way.
Step 3: Add the Face That Goes In
Click the empty slot under Add Face to Swap and load the face you want in the scene. The panel shows it as a pair, your face on the left and the face it replaces on the right, so you can confirm the tool matched the one you meant before spending anything on a generation. If the scene has several people in it, you can fill more than one slot.
Step 4: Agree to the Terms, Then Generate
Face Swap has one gate the other tools don't: a tick box agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, sitting just above the button. The button itself carries the credit cost for the run, so you can see what a swap is worth before you agree to anything.
Generate stays grayed out until you tick it. If the button looks dead and you have already picked a scene and added a face, the terms box is almost always what is missing.
When it lands, the finished photo replaces the preview and the buttons underneath let you download it or send it on with Turn Into Video. Because this is happening inside PhotoDirector rather than a web page, the result is one step away from the rest of your editing rather than a file you have to import again.

Almost always the terms box. Face Swap will not run until you tick the line agreeing to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy just above the button. Check that before assuming something is wrong with your photo.
No. Import Photo sits at the top of the same gallery and takes a photo of your own as the scene instead. The rest of the process is identical, so the gallery is a convenience rather than a requirement.
It comes back into the app rather than as a download you have to re-import, so you can carry straight on with retouching, effects or layout. There is also a Turn Into Video option on the result if you want it animated.
