How to Use AI Match in PowerDirector

The sticker library is enormous, which is the problem. You know what would suit the shot, and finding it means scrolling past a few hundred that would not. AI Match in PowerDirector turns that around: it reads the scene you are parked on and comes back with stickers picked to fit it. Open the Overlays tab and click AI Match under Stickers.
Wait for the scan, then drag a suggestion onto the timeline, or click Suggest More for another set.

Steps to Use AI Match

Step 1: Park the Playhead, Then Open AI Match

Move the playhead onto the moment you want suggestions for first. AI Match describes what it reads as the current scene, so give it the shot you actually want matched before you open it.

Then open the Overlays tab at the top of the window and click AI Match in the left-hand list, under Stickers. It carries a small AI badge beside the name.

It is not in the GenAI menu, where the other AI tools live.

Step 2: Let It Read the Scene

The panel clears and reports its progress as it goes: AI is analyzing the current scene to find the most relevant stickers. There is nothing to set and nothing to confirm.

This is the moment to be sure the playhead is where you meant it, because the scan is the only input you get to influence.

Step 3: Use One, or Ask for More

The results fill the panel. Drag one onto a track above your clip, the same way you would with any sticker, and it downloads on first use.

Suggest More at the bottom of the panel asks for more suggestions against the same scene. Reach for it when the theme looks right but none of the individual stickers is the one.

FAQs

1. I can't find AI Match in the GenAI menu.

It is not there. Unlike the rest of PowerDirector's AI tools, AI Match lives in the Overlays tab, in the left-hand category list under Stickers, with an AI badge next to the name. Nothing in the GenAI menu points to it, so it is a reasonable thing to miss.

2. What does it actually look at?

The current scene, which is the phrase the panel itself uses while it works. It does not spell out whether that means the frame under the playhead or the clip as a whole, so the safe habit is to park the playhead on the shot you want matched before opening AI Match.
